Sri Lanka is a magical country - infused with an off-beat charm and welcoming spirit, it’s as well known for its cricket as its Ceylon tea and offers a wide range of experiences for any discerning traveller.

With an alluring combination of beaches, cultural heritage sites and rich nature reserves, Sri Lanka has it all which makes this warm, sunny teardrop of an island irresistible.

Each region in Sri Lanka offers something different, making it a year-round destination of extraordinary diversity.  The ‘Cultural Triangle’ – the spiritual heart in central Sri Lanka is a treasure trove of ruins, temples and ancient cities whilst the atmospheric allure of colonial towns such as Galle on the south coast is the place to unwind.  With its slow-paced attitude, friendly locals, and hip beach bars it’s easy to forget the time here.

Sri Lanka has no less than twenty-six national parks.  This is where you come to see a leopard up close, journeying with experienced guides to spot an impressive array of endemic flora and fauna.  At the end of the day return to your luxury tented encampment for a sunset G & T in a fabulous location.  Sri Lanka boasts a fine collection of boutique, barefoot beach hotels, and luxury family villas, making it the perfect destination for a special occasion.  No longer a secret, yet still often uncrowded, Sri Lanka should be at the top of any travel list.

 When to go

Sri Lanka is a year-round destination with consistent warmth and lots of sunshine, with temperatures averaging between 31°C at their highest and 22°C at their lowest. It’s normally hotter in coastal areas and the lowlands than it is in areas with higher altitude. Showers can occur at any time.

The southwest coast is best between December and April, before their monsoon season starts, while the east coast and the north is less humid between May and September, when their monsoon season is over.

The central hills remain cooler all year round and we’d only recommend avoiding them in October and November, when the rainfall is less predictable.
