ABOUT Miranda

Travel has always enchanted me. Growing up on a farm in Hampshire, I would listen to my mother’s tales of her childhood in Malaya – sea snakes, pet gibbons, and all – and dream of the day I could explore the far-flung, sun-drenched lands she described so vividly.
After university, I headed to India – the first of 25 visits over the course of 15 years. I have chased wolves in the jungle, partied in the forts and palaces of Rajasthan, tracked tigers in the wild, and sat at roadside dhabas with locals, enjoying a cup of chai.
Although India is and always will be my special place, I have travelled extensively around the world, camera slung on my shoulder, to capture the joy of life through a lens. I have trekked to Tiger’s Nest and been in snowball fights with monks in Bhutan, slept under the stars in Botswana, cycled in Japan, snorkelled with manta ray in Raja Ampat, eaten fish gut soup in China, and braved base jumping in Nepal. My love of wildlife punctuates all my travels – I am never happier than in the wild.
I have more than 15 years’ experience in the luxury travel industry. I joined Tim Best Travel in 2005, setting up the India division. In 2009 it was acquired by Original Travel, where I became Head of Asia until 2020.
As I embark on this solo journey, I share with you all my knowledge and the passion I have for travel. Journeys By Miranda is about creating life-changing moments and long-lasting memories. It’s about being in the right place at the right time – and I will make sure that you are.
